Goes & Stops
Open the handout and spend some time thinking about your child in terms of activities, environments, and people that “light them up” – those moments when you see the smiles and laughter, squeals of joy, bright eyes, or whatever signal that you know about your child that tells you they are having a really good time. Write those down on the left hand side of the document.
Then think about the “stops”. What are the activities, situations and people that don’t work for your child? These will be times when “behaviors” occur that are challenging, when you see your child shut down, frown, or generally NOT having a good time.
